The Yankton Police Department is investigating after a body was found late yesterday morning (April 2, 2023) in the Westside Park Pond area.
In a news release, Yankton Police Chief Jason Foote says “at this time, we do not suspect any foul play.”
An autopsy will be conducted today. Preliminary results are expected by the end of the week or early next week.
The Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, Yankton County Search and Rescue and Yankton County EMS also assisted with the recovery of the body.
