HIGHLIGHTS: A mom sent a note to her daughter’s teacher, saying she was taking her daughter out of school to see Taylor Swift . . . and she peppered it with Taylor Swift references. The teacher loved it.
FULL STORY: I know it’s early, but we’ve got a serious Mom of the Year contender right here: A woman named Karen Vladeck decided to take her daughter out of school so she can see the Taylor Swift show in Houston in a few weeks.
And instead of making up an excuse, Karen wrote her teacher an email ADMITTING her daughter was missing school to see Taylor. Not only that, but she peppered the note with a bunch of Taylor Swift references.
It said, quote, “Dear Reader, I’m writing to let you know that Maddie won’t be in school on 4/24 because she is going to the Taylor Swift concert in Houston.
“I hope missing school doesn’t ruin her otherwise stellar Reputation, but she begged me to go and maybe I Should Have Said No but I didn’t want to be Mean. So It Goes . . .
“Anyway, I hope this doesn’t leave any Bad Blood between you and Maddie and that things for the rest of the year are not Treacherous.
“I know I Did Something Bad and I promise this will be The Last Time she has an unexcused absence before the Cruel Summer starts.
“Forever & Always, Karen Vladeck.”
Oh, and the subject line was, “It’s Me, Hi, I’m the Problem, It’s Me” . . . which is a line from the song “Anti-Hero”.
Not only did the teacher NOT mind, she wrote back, “THIS MADE MY ENTIRE DAY.”
(Not that it adds anything to the story, but the mom here, Karen Vladeck, is the wife of CNN contributor Steve Vladeck.)
