Turns out mom and dad do pick favorites. While they might not admit it to their kids, half of parents prefer their youngest child. The survey (conducted in the UK) also found that while firstborns aren’t always the favorite, they’re more likely to go to their mothers for advice and spend time with their moms as an adult. The survey found that middle children may not get as much attention as their siblings simply because they don’t demand as much attention. Parents identified their middle children as least likely to be reliant on their parents financially.
