The Western North Dakota Honor Flight announces their upcoming flight out of Bismarck, North Dakota, with 96 American military Veterans participating in this trip of a lifetime. Veterans on board this flight served in the era of World War II, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War. The flight will take veterans from across western North Dakota, to Washington, D.C., to see the national memorials built in their honor.
Honor Flight board members and volunteers will escort the Veterans to Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, Korea War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the WWII Memorial. As this trip will carry the Western North Dakota Honor Flight’s first female Veteran, it is only fitting that we honor the commitment, contributions, and experiences of Servicewomen by adding a stop to visit the Military Women’s Memorial.
The Honor Flight will depart on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 7:00 a.m. CDT and return on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. CDT.
This experience is provided at no cost to the Veteran. All the funds raised for this flight have been generously donated by businesses, service organizations, fund raising events and personal donations from individuals across Western North Dakota.
Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to celebrate America’s Veterans by inviting them to share in a day of honor at our nation’s memorials. Combined, these Hubs have taken nearly 275,000 military Veterans to see the national war memorials.
Veterans from nearly every community in western North Dakota are participating in this upcoming flight.
