PIERRE, S.D. – It was a long night for the Pierre Trappers baseball team as they dropped a 23-2 score to the Hub City Hot Shots in Expedition League baseball in Pierre. Hub City scored 10 runs in the first two innings on the strength of a pair of two run home runs. They added 5 more in the 4th inning and 7 runs in the 6th as they banged out 25 hits. Starting and losing pitcher Adrian Fell allowed all 15 runs, and 15 hits in 4 innings of work. Things were not much better for Jimmy Harden as he allowed all 7 runs on 6 hits in two innings of work. Arturo Monroy pitched the final 3 innings allowing just 1 run. Pierre had only 7 hits in the game with Cal Smith getting 3 of them and an RBI. Pierre native Landon Badger had a double as he joined the team for the first time this season. The other Pierre native, Spencer Sarringer also singled for the Trappers who saw their record fall to 6-6 on the season. The Hot Shots won for the just the second time this season. The two teams wrap up their brief two game series tonight at Hyde Stadium with first pitch at 6:35 pm.
