VERMILLION, S.D.—South Dakota football will open the 2018 season on Sept. 1 in a 6 p.m. kickoff against Kansas State at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan. The game will be carried live on ESPN3. It will be the fifth matchup between the programs and the second time in the last four years that the Coyotes and Wildcats will square off in the opener. The teams also met in Manhattan in 1980, 1981 and 1982. South Dakota will be taking on an FBS program for the 11th time in the last nine seasons.
