PIERRE, S.D. – Teddy Petersen scored the game winning run on a past ball in the bottom of the 8th inning to lead the Pierre Trappers to a 8-7 win over Hub City Hotshots and their 4th consecutive win on the season Wednesday night in Expedition League Baseball at Hyde Stadium. Pierre had built a 4-0 lead with 3 runs in the first and another in the second. But the Hot Shots battled back with a 6 run 4th inning to take the lead at 6-4. The Trappers scored two in the 6th to tie the game at 7 before Petesen scampered home with the winning run. Ken Scott hit his first home run of the season for the Trappers for one of his 3 hits. He also drove in 4 runs. Conner Burgess pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning striking out 2 to pick up the win. He was one of 3 Pierre pitchers used on the night. The Trappers are 4 and 1 on the season all against the Hot Shots. The two teams will wrap up their 6 game series to open the season tonight at Hyde Stadium.
