PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Trappers broke open a close game with a 12 run 7th inning to down the Badlands Big Sticks 20-4 in Expedition League baseball Monday night in Pierre. With the win, the Trappers won their 7th straight and moved to within 5.5 games of front running Souris Valley in the Lewis Division of the first year collegiate wood bat league. Teddy Ellison had a home run while driving in 7 runs for the Trappers who unleashed a 18 hit attack and Jackson Bak picked up the win as he allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and struck out 10 over 6.2 innings to pick up the win. Ellison and Jack Waletich each had 4 hits for the Trappers and Adrian Findanza had a double and triple. The Trappers take tonight off and return to Expedition League play tomorrow when they travel to Spearfish and their first visit against the Sasquatch.
