ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion baseball team went 5-0 in pool play over the weekend at the Gopher Classic in the Twin Cities. On Sunday, Pierre downed Lino Lakes, Minnesota 3-1 behind a combined 3 hitter from starting and winning pitcher Kyle Stover who went 6 innings and then Peyton Pietz went the final inning to pick up the save. Pierre scored 1 run in the first and two more in the third and made it stand up as they improved their record to 20-17 on the season. Post 8 had 10 hits with Maguire Raske, Garrett Stout and Peyton Zabel getting RBI singles in the win. Pierre moves into tournament bracket action today (Monday) with games. They face the Moorhead, Minnesota Blues at 11:30 am.
