PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governor tennis team opens the season Friday with a young inexperienced team and a coach who is hopeful that as the season goes on, the team will show signs of improvement. The Lady Govs will play 4 dual matches this weekend against Harrisburg and the 3 Sioux Falls public school squads. Head coach Kerry Dilley says though that his team is working hard and that ill hopefully show this weekend.
The lineup is not set in stone yet however for Coach Dilley who says he only has his top 3 flights figured out who they will be. After that it is a competitive guessing game.
Coach Dilley says that Pierre will go into the matches this weekend after working on the basics and getting them fundamentally in each players game.
Pierre has just 15 girls out for tennis this season and several of the girls have little or no tennis experience. The Lady Govs will play at Harrisburg at 1 pm and then travel to Sioux Falls to face Sioux Falls Lincoln at 4 pm this afternoon. Tomorrow’s matches will be at 9 am and 1 pm.
