PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Athletic Coaches Association (PACA) has chosen Pierre Lady Governor Cross Country Runner Jessica Lutmer and Pierre Governor football player Gage Gehring as their Avera Riggs High School Athletes of the Week. Lutmer has been running very good this season being the led runner for the girls two of the first three races. Last week in Aberdeen Jessica placed 7th in the varsity 5000 meters in 20:28. This was a personally best time by 25 seconds. Gehring is one of the captains of the Governor football team and is having an excellent season so far amassing 30 tackles with 5 for loss in the first 3 games to lead the team. He also has 170 total yards and 3 TD’s on offense. Lutmer was nominated for the award by her head coach Jim Keyes while Gehring was nominated by head football coach Steve Steele.
