AUGUST 11, 2023:

Fort Pierre’s Trader Days are this weekend (Aug. 11-13, 2023) and Mayor Gloria Hanson says there’s a lot going on.

As part of the festivities, the Verendrye Museum is once again holding its Backyard BBQ Competition.

Deb Schiefelbein with the Museum Board says there’s a team calcutta tonight at 6pm CT.

She says people have the opportunity to help select the winner in one category.

For the BBQ contest, Schiefelbein says contestants are cooking brisket, which folks will be able to buy for lunch.

Children under five years old eat for free.

Schiefelbein says the Verendrye Museum Board supports five historical sites.
