PIERRE – The Pierre School District is set to begin its Summer Strength and Conditioning Program for athletes this week. To maintain compliance with CDC & COVID-19 guidelines and National Strength and Conditioning Association recommendations, high school groups will be divided into grade and gender sessions to reduce the number of participants in each group. Those participating are asked to arrive 5 to 10 minutes before their scheduled session starts to complete the pre-screen process. They will have a short warm up, complete the speed/agility training, transition to the lifting session, and then be asked to depart in a timely manner. Students are asked to maintain proper social distancing, complete the pre-screen process, enter and exit areas as directed and use hand sanitizer upon entering and exiting. Students may bring their own water bottles and towels, but are not permitted to share anything. They are encouraged to wear gloves and masks, but that is not mandatory. Water fountains and restrooms will NOT be available.
