PIERRE, S.D. – Class A and B Region Volleyball playoff matchups have been announced by the South Dakota High School Activities Association. The Region 6A tournament begins next Tuesday where Miller and Cheyenne Eagle Butte are the top two seeds and have first round byes. Crow Creek will travel to Chamberlain in the 6 vs. 3 matchup in the first round with the winner to face Cheyenne Eagle Butte in the semi final round next Thursday. Stanley County is the number 5 seed and will travel to Mobridge-Pollock for their first round contest with the winner to face Miller in Miller next Thursday.
In Class B, the Region 2B meet begins Monday with Faulkton Area and Sully Buttes the top two seeds and first round byes. On Monday, Leola-Frederick faces Eureka Bowdle in Leola and Sunshine Bible Academy travels to Highmore to face Highmore-Harrold in opening round matchups. Tuesday night will have the Leola-Frederick and Eureka Bowdle winner facing Faulkton, Potter County will be at Ipswich, Sully Buttes will host the Highmore-Harrold and Sunshine Bible winner and Edmunds Central will travel to Herreid Selby Area. The winners of Tuesday night’s matchup will play Thursday with the two teams left standing qualifying for the Round of 16 next week.
In Region 7B there will be 2 first round games on Monday with Jones County at Edgemont in a game played at Rapid City Christian and Lyman hosting Crazy Horse. On Tuesday, top seed Kadoka Area will host Lower Brule, #5 White River travels to #4 Wall, #2 Philip will host the winner of Jones County and Edgemont and #3 New Underwood will play Lyman/Crazy Horse winner in games at Philip. The semi finals will be Thursday night with the two left standing qualifying for the Round of 16 next week.
