ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Pierre Governor golf team still had a high score but also their highest finish as a team in the Hub City Invitational Golf tournament hosted by Aberdeen Central and Roncalli on Tuesday at the Lee Park Golf Course. The Governors shot a 352 which was two shot higher than last Friday at Huron but the third place finish on Tuesday was 6 spots higher than on Friday. Aberdeen Central won the tournament with a 323 team score, Watertown was second in the 12 team tournament with a 330. Individually, Ethan Vikander of Aberdeen Central was the medalist with a round of 73, 4 shots better than runner up Landon Roberts. Nick Bothun fired a round of 83 which was good for a 7th place finish and the best on the day for the Governors. Carter Karst had an 87 good for a 13th place finish while Zain Baus came in with an 89 and a 19th place finish. Raef Briggs had a 93, Grady Klundt came in with a 94 and Luke Olson fired a 99. In all their were a total of 67 golfers in the tournament field. Next up for the Governor golf team is the Black Hills Invitational hosted by Sturgis at the Boulder Canyon Country Club on Friday.
Governor Golf Finishes 3rd at Aberdeen
