BROOKINGS, S.D. – Following an opening round 9-1 setback to Sioux Falls in the opening round of the State High School Varsity Girls hockey tournament and a 4-3 second round victory over Watertown, the Oahe Lady Capitals dropped a 6-5 verdict to the Sioux Center Storm on Sunday to take home 6th place in the tournament that was won by Sioux Falls. Sioux Center jumped out to a 4-2 lead after the first intermission and never trailed in the game as they ended their season with a 3 game sweep of the Lady Capitals. Olivia Swensen and Jessa McTighe scored first period goals for the Lady Capitals while Ashton Lee got a second period goal. Swensen added a second goal and Amy Gilkerson rounded out the scoring for the Lady Capitals in the third period. Shots on goal were even in the game at 24.
