PIERRE, S.D. – The Oahe Capitals Varsity Hockey team won twice over the weekend. On Saturday Spencer Wedin and Talan Greise netted goals within 2 minutes of each other early in the third period that were the game winners in a 3-1 win at Mitchell. Sunday the Capitals returned home and shut out the Brookings Rangers 4-0. Oahe scored a goal from Caden Davis six minutes into the first period that proved to be the game winner. Wedin scored twice and Davis added another goal lin the second to complete the scoring. Tate Meuller turned aside all 20 shots he faced in goal for the Capitals.

The Oahe Lady Capitals were beaten twice over the weekend. On Saturday, Mitchell haned the Lady Capitals a 12-4 setback. Kaitlynn Swenson scored a pair of goals for the Lady Capitals while Amy Gilkerson and Ashton Lee netted goals as well as Mitchell built a 9-2 lead after two periods. On Sunday, the Lady Capitals returned home for their first home game since December 1st and were handed a 9-2 setback by the Brookings Rangers. Amy Gilkerson gave the Lady Capitals a 1-0 lead with a goal at 4:12 of the first period but Brookings found the net 5 times in the first period and 3 more in the second and 1 in the third. Gilkerson scored her second goal of the game at 13:48 of the second period.
