PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Lady Governors got off to a good start but it didn’t last as Pierre dropped a 67-45 verdict to Mitchell in girls basketball Tuesday night in Pierre. The Lady Govs led 14-6 after the first quarter but by halftime the lead and momentum was gone as Mitchell outscored the Lady Govs 22-10 and had a 4 point halftime lead that blossomed more into the second half. 21 turnovers by the Lady Govs didn’t hel the cause either. Jodi Severyn came off the bench to score 12 points and Emily Mikkelsen added 11 for Pierre which lost their 5th straight and 12th in the last 14 games. Tessa Limberg led the way for Mitchell with 26 points as the Kernels won their 4th straight and improved to 10-6 on the season. Taylor Factor added 11 for the Kernels. Pierre is back at home on Friday hosting 5th ranked Brookings at Riggs High Gym.
