SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota State women’s basketball team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Womens Basketball tournament with a 83-71 win over in-state rival South Dakota in the championship game of the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls on Tuesday. USD led by 10 in the first half but SDSU led by Macy Miller took a 7 point lead into the locker room at half time and increased it to 19 in the third quarter. USD cut it to 8 late in the 4th quarter but it was as close as they would get. Macy Miller became the All Time leading scorer in Summit League basketball history with a game high 30 points. Madison Guebert added 22 for SDSU. USD was led by Allison Arens who had 26 but was the only double figure scorer for the Coyotes. USD shot just 32 percent from the field on the game while SDSU was hitting on a 50 percent clip and was 26 of 28 from the free throw line. USD now waits to see if they will be selected to the NCAA tournament. SDSU waits until Monday for the NCAA Tournament selection show.
