PIERRE, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 American Legion Junior Varsity baseball team downed Huron 12-1 Wednesday night at Hyde Stadium in Pierre. The lone single game saw Pierre put together 17 hits in the contest led by Gavin Nedved’s 3. Bennett Dean and Isaac Polak each had a pair of hits in the game and Spencer Lettellier led the way with 3 RBI’s in the contest. Pierre scored 2 runs in the second and put the game away with a 6 run third inning. They added 4 more 5th for Pierre’s 3rd victory over Huron this season. Aaron Booth picked up the win on the mound going 5 innings allowing just 2 hits and striking out 12. The win improves the Pierre JV record to 8-15 on the season as they are off until Saturday when they travel to Mitchell for an afternoon doubleheader at Cadwell Park that will begin at 1 pm.
