PIERRE, S.D. – The summer swimming schedule is now in full swing as members of the Pierre Swim Team (PST) traveled to Rapid City and Mitchell to compete last weekend. A squad consisting of Pressley Frost, Ann Tjeerdsma, Max Brosz, Elle and David Stagg, and Sofia Ramirez competed in the Mt. Rushmore Classic in Rapid City while Four PST members traveled to Mitchell to compete in the 2019 Corn Palace Classic. In Rapid City, the young female duo of Pressley Frost and Elle Stagg dominated the 7-8 girls division. Frost won the 100, 200 and 400 freestyle events and finished in the top 5 in all 9 events she swam in. Not to be outdone, Stagg won the 100 breast, had two 2nd, two 3rd, and two 4th place finishes. In Mitchell, Katelynn Axtell swam well, winning the girls 13-14 high point trophy. Axtell won the 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 200 freestyle and 200 breast stroke events.
