PIERRE, S.D. – Cole Nelson and Spencer Davis of the Pierre Governor Tennis team have been named the Avera Riggs High School Athletes of the Week by the Pierre Athletic Coaches Association (PACA). Cole & Spencer are the Governors Flight 3 Doubles Tennis pair having stepped into a Varsity role this year and steadily improved all year long according to their head coach Steve Steele. This past weekend they won 8 matches in a row finishing as tournament champions and gaining a lot of momentum headed into the year end tournaments. Coach Steele says they are guys that always have fun on the court and do a great job of supporting the rest of the team. He says tt has been fun to see their hard work show through their growth as the year has went on.
