PIERRE, S.D. – Rapid City Stevens fired a 312 team score and finished 17 strokes ahead of runner up Watertown on Tuesday at the Pierre Invitatational Golf tournament at Hillsview Golf Course. Pierre had two groups of players form teams. Team 1 had a round of 354 to finished 6th and Team 2 had a 375 to finish to finish 10th in the 13 team field. Ben Daane of Rapid City Stevens fired an even par 72 to claim a two stroke victory over Adam Salter of Stevens. Huron’s Landon Roberts had a 76 to finish third. The top score for the Governor golfers was a 86 fired by Grady Kludt and Raef Briggs of Pierre Team 1 as they finished tied for 15th. Jonathan Lyons of Team 2 had a 90 to tie for 26th. Carter Karst had a 91 along with Nick Bothun. Sawyer Lee had a 93 and Luke Olson a 94. Tyler Swensen came in with a 94 while Zane Baus had a 96. Thomas Kropp and Alex Gordon had 98’s and Cooper Swartz had a 104. There were a total of 77 golfers who competed in the tournament.
