BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State rolled to its 13th consecutive win Thursday (Feb. 15, 2024) – a 74-53 victory over Kansas City at Frost Arena. Brooklyn Meyer led four Jackrabbits in double figures with a 25-point night. She also tallied seven rebounds, three blocks and a steal. Paige Meyer followed with 12 points, then Madison Mathiowetz with 11 and Tori Nelson with a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double. The Jackrabbits were 42 percent from the field and held the Roos to 36 percent shooting. SDSU committed a season-low seven turnovers while forcing 14 by Kansas City. Alayna Contreras scored 12 points to lead the Roo. The Jackrabbit women remain unbeaten in Summit League action at 11-0 and improved to 19-5 overall.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – South Dakota State stuck with Kansas City for nearly the entire contest, but the Roos made multiple clutch plays down the stretch to earn a 72-67 victory over the Jackrabbits in Kansas City on Thursday (Feb. 15, 2024). Zack Mayo led four SDSU double-digit scorers with 19 points. William Kyle III registered 15 and tied his career high of five blocks. Charlie Easley scored 13 points, along with a team-high eight rebounds, and Luke Appel added 11 points for the Jackrabbits who fell to 7 and 4 in Summit League action and 14 and 12 overall. Khristion Courseault scored 17 points which included an 8-for-8 clip at the charity stripe and Jamar Brown also recorded 16 points as well as a game-high 10 rebounds to lead Kansas City.
