DICKINSON, N.D. – The Badlands Big Sticks completed a 3 game sweep of the Pierre Trappers with a 9-6 win in Expedition League Baseball Sunday afternoon in Dickinson, North Dakota before an announced crowd of 827. The Big Sticks struck for 3 runs in the first and second innings and then added 2 more in the third and never looked back as they had a 17 hit attack on Pierre pitchers Darin Parkhurst and AJ Sheetz. Parkhurst started and took the loss allowing 8 runs on 11 hits over 4 innings. Sheetz allowed 1 run 6 hits in 4 innings of releif. Joel Torres was the winning pitcher for Badlands going 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. 3 relievers kept the Trappers at bay in the 8th and 9th innings. The Big Sticks had two more home runs in the game while the Trappers got solo home runs from Micheal Herrera and Nate Piazza. Pierre had a series high 12 hits in the game. With the loss, the Trappers fall to 24-25 on the season. They have today off and then host the Hub City Hot Shots in a two game series beginning tomorrow night followed by a series with the Spearfish Sasquatch.
