Governor Golfers in 13th place After Day One of State AA Golf Tournament

YANKTON, S.D. – The Pierre Governor Golf team fired a opening round 363 and sit in 13th place after the first day of the State Class AA boys golf tournament being played at the Hillcrest Country Club in Yankton. Sioux Falls Roosevelt fired a opening round 302 and has 6 shot lead over runner u Rapid City while Sioux Falls Lincoln is 7 shots back after an opening round 309. The top score fired by a Governor golfer was an 85 by Carter Karst which has him in a tie for 40th. Grady Klundt fired an opening round 87 while Raef Briggs had a 92, Sawyer Sonnenschien and Zane Baus had 97’s and Luke Olson fired a 103. Ben Dane of Rapid City Stevens had a opening round 71 and holds a one shot lead over Karsten Kern of Sioux Falls Roosevelt. 3 other players are two shots back. The second and final round of the State Class AA tournament is today (Tuesday).
