Governor Tennis Teams Finished 8th at State A Tournament

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Pierre Governor tennis team scored 119 points to finish 8th out of 11 at the State Class A Tennis Tournament as it wrapped up Tuesday in Sioux Falls. The Governors highest place finishers was the number 6 doubles team of Jocelyn Morrales and Gracie Zeeb who lost in the semi finals but bounced back with a win in the third place match for the highest finish in girls tennis in Pierre in a State Tournament in several years. Morrales, Kaitlynn Ott and Zeeb all lost their semi fnal match in singles play and then were beaten again to be eliminated earlier in the day. Mitchell rallied to take the team title from Yankton 492.5 to 484.5. Aberdeen Roncalli, Rapid City Christian and Milbank rounded out the top 5 teams. The State Class AA Girls Tennis Tournament begins tomorrow in Sioux Falls.
