Someone noticed Apple now lists their original AirPods as a “vintage” product.
We’re not talking about the old ones with wires. We mean the first wireless ones that came out WAY back in September of 2016. So, less than eight years ago.
Apple considers a product to be “vintage” five years after they stop selling it. So it’s really just their own definition. But it’s weird to hear a term we associate with antiques used to describe a wireless product.
They moved it to their vintage list on Monday along with their first-generation HomePod smart speaker, and the iPhone X that came out in 2017.
