The U.S. Meat Export Federation promotes red meat around the globe through the support of a variety of groups and checkoff organizations, including the United Soybean Board. The USB recently met in Baltimore to set priorities for the coming fiscal year.
Jim Douglas, a soybean, corn and pork producer from Indiana, sits on both the USB and the USMEF Executive Committee. He spoke at the USB gathering about the impact the soy industry support has on growing meat exports and, in turn, growing soy demand. He also reflected on the importance of U.S. soy sustainability as a key part of the marketing message globally for U.S. pork.
