WATERTOWN, S.D. – The Pierre Governor Cross Country Teams wrapped up their regular season on Thursday in Watertown at the Watertown Invitational Cross Country meet run at the Cattail Crossing Country Club Cross County Course. The Governors scored 151 points to finish 7th in the team standings. Aberdeen Central had 29 points to win the team title led by Aaron Ryan who ran a 16:16.00 to win the individual title. Hayden Shaffer had a time of 17:17.0 and finished 15th to lead the Governors. Blake Judson was the next best Governor finisher in 40th. There were a total of 73 runners in the race. In the Girls Divison Brandon Valley won the team title with 54 points while the Governors had 177 to finish 7th. Melanie Jacobs of Aberdeen Central won the individual title with a time of 19:06.00. Jessica Lutmer had a strong race for Pierre finishing in a time of 19:53.00 and an 11th place finish. Morgan Odekoven had the next best finish for Pierre in 35th place. The Governors travel to Aberdeen next week for the annual ESD Cross Country Race.
