Taco lovers in the Pierre/Fort Pierre area had one less restaurant to chose from for their typical meal on Tuesday– and will be without that option for about eight weeks.
The Taco John’s® store in Pierre closed this week (Sept. 9, 2024) to begin a complete remodel. The Pierre location was one of the first locations originally purchased by Pentex, currently the largest franchisee of Taco John’s, operating 46 locations across eight states.
Pentex Restaurant Management Group CEO Brett Itterman says they’re looking forward to completely transforming their space in Pierre. He says in five weeks, the store is scheduled to reopen with drive-thru service only. Three weeks after that, the store should be back open for dining in.
This isn’t the first time in recent history fast food lovers in the Pierre/Fort Pierre area have had to go without one of their options for a few months. Back in 2021, the 40-some year old McDonald’s restaurant in Pierre was torn down and completely rebuilt over the summer.
