NOVEMBER 13, 2024:
Two people died early Saturday morning (Nov. 9, 2024, 1:22am) in a single vehicle crash eight miles northeast of Aberdeen.
Preliminary crash information indicates 37 year old Zachary Deen Rathert of Aberdeen, the driver, and a passenger, 36 year old Kyle Anthony Tempel of Aberdeen, were traveling westbound on Brown County 13 near the intersection of 393rd Avenue in a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. The vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch, then vaulted off the shoulder at the intersection. The vehicle rolled, ejecting both occupants. Both received fatal injuries.
All information released so far is only preliminary.
The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
