Believe it or not, Samuel L. Jackson has only been nominated for an Oscar ONCE . . . Best Supporting Actor for “Pulp Fiction” in the ’90s. But he didn’t win.
In an interview with the AP, Samuel says the Oscars are strange . . . because it’s like “a contest that you didn’t volunteer to be in.”
He also says, “Folks will go, ‘Well, it’s just an honor to be nominated.’ No it ain’t. It’s an honor to WIN. You get nominated . . . and most people forget.”
He’s talking about it, because he’s getting SOME Oscar buzz for his new Netflix movie, “The Piano Teacher” . . . but an Oscar isn’t something he’s chasing.
In the past, he’s said, “My yardstick of success is my happiness: Am I satisfied with what I’m doing? I’m not doing statue-chasing movies . . . I’d rather be Nick Fury. Or having fun being Mace Windu with a lightsaber in my hand.”
