In the first game the fifth ranked Lyman Raiders improved to 2-0 on the season, winning 59-16. The Raiders in the second quarter went on a 15-0 run, helping them push it to a 25-point advantage at halftime, leading 39-14. The Lyman defense had essentially a perfect second half holding them to zero made field goals. Mak Scott led the Raiders in scoring with 18-points, Jordyn Scott finished with 10.
In the boys game, the Chargers salvaged the doubleheader winning their game. Sully Buttes defense was on display forced 23 turnovers, but the Raiders persevered, even taking the lead at one point in the second half. But a 10-0 run to close out quarter three, and did not look back. 53-43 was the final as the Chargers won their season opener on the back of a 19-point performance from a hobbled Wes Wittler, 12 from Jett Yackley and Eli Mercer with 11. The Raiders were led by MJ Diehm with 9 points, but they fall to 1-1 on the season.
