Robert De Niro isn’t playing a mob boss in his upcoming movie. Been there, done that. Instead, he’s playing TWO mob bosses.
In “The Alto Knights”, he’ll play real-life gangsters Vito Genovese and Frank Costello. . . who start off as allies, then end up in a deadly battle for control of New York City.
And this might sweeten the pot: It was written by Nicholas Pileggi, who also wrote two of De Niro’s best mob movies, “Goodfellas” and “Casino”.
(Which are basically the same movie, but it’s such an AWESOME movie, it’s just not right to complain.)
“The Alto Knights” hits theaters on March 21st.
(WARNING: The trailer contains profanity, because how could it not?)
