MINNEAPOLIS – Before the 2020 regular season has even begun, the Twins’ preliminary 2021 schedule has been announced. The Twins, along with every other Major League team, are set to begin the season on April 1, and for the first time, the Twins will open the season with interleague play against the Brewers in Milwaukee. That will be followed by three games in Detroit before Minnesota opens its home schedule April 8 against Seattle at Target Field.
11 home games will be played in April, with 18 in May, 12 in June, 14 in July, 13 in August and 13 in September. The Astros, Indians, Angels and Brewers will come to Minneapolis for showcased weekend series.
With interleague play against the National League Central, the Chicago Cubs will come to Target Field for the first time since 2015 for games on August 31 and September 1. The Pirates will come to Minnesota in April, with the Reds playing at Target Field in June.
As usual, the Twins will play their American League Central rivals (White Sox, Indians, Tigers and Royals) 19 times each.
