MITCHELL – COVID-19 concerns have forced the organizers of the Hansen-Anderson Basketball Camp to cancel it for this year.
South Dakota’s longest-running basketball camp was founded by Dick Hansen in 1979 and was led by high school coaches from around the state. It started in Huron, but has been at the Dakota Wesleyan campus for the last several years.
Chris Gubbrud, the camp’s owner/operator, told the Mitchell Republic, “It’s disappointing a little bit because it’s so fun to do. However, we will be back next summer and we will get to do it again. It’s just a temporary bump in the road.”
The three-day camp was to be open to boys and girls ages 4-12.
