Oct. 1, 2025:
A 24 year old man from Brookings has been indicted on 50 felony counts of Distribution of Child Pornography.
Mohammad Ghosheh, was indicted Monday (Sept. 29, 2025) by a Brookings County Grand Jury. Each sentence carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says the alleged incidents occurred between October 2024 and February 2025 in Brookings County. Ghosheh had earlier been charged with one count of Solicitation of a Minor and 50 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
South Dakota’s Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation and has been assisted by the South Dakota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the Brookings Police Department. The South Dakota Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case.
The defendant is presumed innocent under the U.S. Constitution.
June 27, 2025:
A Brookings man has been indicted on one felony count of Solicitation of a Minor.
Mohammad Ghosheh, 24, was indicted Wednesday (June 25, 2025) by a Brookings County Grand Jury.
The alleged incident occurred in February 2025, in Brookings County.
South Dakota’s Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation and has been assisted by the South Dakota Internet Crimes Against Child Task Force, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the Brookings Police Department. The South Dakota Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case.
The defendant also faces 50 charges of possession of child pornography. He is presumed innocent under the U.S. Constitution.
April 28, 2025:
A 25 year old man from Brookings has pleaded not guilty to 50 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Mohammad Ghoshe, entered his plea Monday (April 28, 2025) in Brookings County Circuit Court. He faces a minimum sentence of one year in prison on each count.
“The charges reflect the seriousness of having a 15-year-old victim involved in this case,” said Attorney General Marty Jackley.
DCI is leading the investigation and has been assisted by the South Dakota Internet Crimes Against Child (ICAC) Task Force, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the Brookings Police Department. The South Dakota Attorney General’s Office is prosecuting the case.
Trial is scheduled for August. The defendant is presumed innocent under the U.S. Constitution.
March 27, 2025:
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announces that a Brookings man has been charged with 12 total counts of Possession of Child Pornography and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
Mohammad Ghosheh, 24, was arrested Tuesday (March 25, 2025). He was released on a $10,000 cash bond. His initial court appearance is April 28 in Brookings County Circuit Court.
“The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding a missing 15-year-old female from North Carolina. Our investigation discovered that she had been in contact with the defendant,” said Attorney General Jackley. “Our investigation continues, and further charges may be filed.”
Ghosheh is charged with 11 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. He is a South Dakota state government employee.
