VERMILLION – USD women’s basketball star Ciara Duffy has been nominated by the school for the NCAA Woman of the Year award.
Duffy graduated summa cum laude in 2019 with a double major in political science and history. She is working toward her master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. She led the Coyotes to two Summit League regular season titles and this year’s Summit League tournament championship, two NCAA tournament appearances and two appearances in the WNIT. Duffy is third in program history with 1,793 points and is the only player ever at USD with at least 1,700 points, 600 rebounds and 400 assists.
The award was established to recognize graduating female student-athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers. The winner will be announced this fall by the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics.
