Netflix hosted their annual Tudum fan event this past weekend, where they announced exciting details about upcoming projects like ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Squid Games’, and more.
One of the exciting projects they announced to be coming out later this year, is the long-awaited second season of the Jenna Ortega-led hit series, ‘Wednesday’, which follows Wednesday Addams as she uses her newfound psychic abilities to solve dark mysteries at her new boarding school, Nevermore Academy.
A 6-minute-preview of the season was shown at Tudum, revealing that Wednesday spent her summer locked in a serial killer’s basement.
The second season of Wednesday is set to premiere in two halves, the first half releasing August 6th, and the second premiering nearly a month later, on September 3rd.
Although she does not appear in the clip, it was confirmed that Lady Gaga will be making an appearance in the second half of season 2.
Gaga’s casting wasn’t exactly a secret, with fans learning way back in November of last year that she would make a cameo in ‘Wednesday’. However, that didn’t stop the excitement when it was officially announced that the pop icon will take on the role of Rosaline Rotwood – “a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday,” as described by Netflix.
The Mother Monster closed Tudum out with a treat for all viewers, starting with her fan-favorite Mayhem track “Zombieboy”.
Gaga then went on to perform a small part of her track “Bloody Mary”, which faded into “Goo Goo Muck” by the Cramps. (The song Jenna Ortega’s character danced to in a viral clip from the first season, which was later set to the sound of “Bloody Mary” by TikTok users)
Ortega herself then made an appearance on stage as the Addams Family theme song played in the background. Gaga brought the attention back to herself with her hit “Abracadabra” being the final performance of the night.
