A regular meeting of the Walworth County Commission was held Tuesday, June 17th, at the Walworth County Courthouse in Selby.
Greg Mix, representing the Mobridge Senior Center, visited with the commissioners about ongoing improvements and activities at the center, and he thanked them for their continued support.
Register of Deeds
Walworth County Register of Deeds Brenda DeToy presented the monthly report from her office and announced that she had received twelve candidates for the Deputy position. The person she hired will start their duties on July 1st.
Landfill
Commissioner Duane Mohr gave the monthly report from the Landfill, and the commissioners approved a motion to table the Landfill bids so that Mohr can hold more discussion with HKG.
Highway
The commissioners gave approval to a rental agreement with C&B for two John Deere tractors for work with the two Highway Department mowers at a cost of $25.00 per hour with a $250.00 maximum.
Auditor
Walworth County Auditor Kim Dills reported that the books balanced for the May end-of-month report.
Also for the Auditor’s office the commissioners:
- approved an auto-supplement budget transfer in the amount of $40,500.00 to the Emergency Management fund to accept a federal brick grant for a pre-disaster mitigation plan;
- approved another auto-supplement budget transfer of $67, 632.00 to Emergency Management for acceptance of a federal homeland security grant;
- and they tabled action on a budget transfer of $150,000.00 from the General Fund to Emergency Management in order to gather more information. Auditor Dills said the funds had been approved for the 2025 budget, but she did not have the budget in front of her during the meeting.
Walworth County Commission meeting dates in July will be July 8th and 22nd.
