The Mobridge City Council held a regular meeting on Wednesday, July 9th, at City Hall.
Council approved several requests for the wastewater treatment plant rehabilitation project, including:
- advertising for equipment procurement documents that are contingent on approval by the South Dakota Department of Agriculture & Natural Resources;
- a pay request ($431,292.60) to Preload for flooring and wall installation on the water tank and water main project;
- a pay request ($713,992.34) to Crow River LLC for work being done on the water main portion on the highway west of the cemetery leading up to the golf course;
- a change order deduction (-$4,650.00) to Crow River LLC for removal of a 12-inch gate valve deemed not necessary on the water transmission line project. A 6-inch gate valve was added, as suggested by Public Works;
- a pay request ($205,626.33) to Sentry for clarifier and trough equipment ordering;
- and a pay request ($22,797.00) to Muth Electric for current work being done inside and outside the water treatment plant.
The council approved a NECOG agreement. Mobridge City Finance Officer Heather Beck talked about the contract.
A bid of $190,323.20 from Jensen Rock & Sand was approved for the trail project. Beck told the council the total cost came in under what had been estimated.
Council also approved:
- a bid of $5,100.00 from Milliken Investments for surplus property at 112 9th Street West.
- two cemetery deeds;
- and a step increase for Amanda Perez in the Police Department.
Mayor Gene Cox encouraged council members to review the South Dakota Open Meetings Law Brochure per Senate Bill 74, and he highlighted a few of the items in it.
