A business filing fee increase went into effect in South Dakota on July 1, 2025.
House Bill 1024, signed into law during the 2025 Legislative Session, increases the filing fee by $5 for Annual Reports and Amended Annual Reports filed with the Secretary of State’s Office. Nonprofit organizations registered with the office will not be affected by this fee change.
“We are committed to keeping our fees as low and predictable as possible,” said Secretary of State Monae L. Johnson. “This modest increase helps us continue delivering efficient and secure services to the thousands of businesses that operate in South Dakota.”
