The Capital Area United Way COVID-19 Community Response & Recovery Fund has helped nine nonprofit agencies and 67 families—including 75 children– in the Pierre and Fort Pierre area.
Executive Director Chris Maxwell says the fund, launched in mid-April, received support from businesses, families and individuals who wanted to help those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. He says through this effort, Capital Area United Way provided support totaling $65,000 for rental/housing assistance, utility payments, food, transportation or personal care assistance.
Incidentally, Dakota Radio Group has chosen the United Way to receive a portion of the proceeds from our August Wheeler Dealer sales. Wheeler Dealer will be August 12-19 at www.DRGnews.com.
