Our American Story invites people from across our nation to reflect on their experiences and share their voices. This nationwide oral and visual history project will collect, share, and preserve stories from people across the United States of America.
Launched with a celebration on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., Our American Story is hitting the road later this summer—traveling across the country in Airstream studios to capture thousands of personal stories. Each tour stop will feature local activation events and community activities.
From veterans and educators to intergenerational families and community leaders, this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make your voice part of our shared history. Each story will be recorded, archived, and preserved at the Library of Congress and select stories will be featured in documentaries, digital media, and nationwide broadcasts.
Whether you stop by one of our tour stops or nominate someone who’s story should be told, you are an essential part of the American story. Join us in shaping a collective legacy that will inspire generations to come.
