According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sabrina Carpenter will be one of the main performers at the 2025 VMAs.
Announced earlier this morning, Carpenter is set to perform as she hold 8 nominations, including the biggest award of the night for Video of the Year for “Manchild”.
Also set to perform is Sombr, who is nominated for Best New Artist and Best Alternative. After the breakout year he has had, this will be his first perfomance at an award show.
J Balvin, on the other hand, will be making his return after his 2022 appearance. This time he will perform alongside fellow Latin stars Justin Quiles and Lenny Tavárez for their collaboration “Zun Zun”. Balvin will then be joined by DJ Snake for a live premiere of the duo’s track “Noventa”.
Alex Warren will be next to make his VMA debut. He is nominated for best new artist, best pop, and song of the year.
Beyond current artists, the MTV stage will also bring back some of the 90’s most impactful icons. Busta Rhymes will be awarded the Rock the Bells Visionary Award, while Ricky Martin will receive the Latin Icon Award. Both are set to perform.
These are all performances that have been announced so far, but it seems more may yet be added to the list.
Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Kendrick Lamar lead the nominations with 12, 11, and 10 respectively. LL Cool J will host.
The 2025 MTV VMAs will air live on CBS on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 7PM CST. It will be available for simulcast on MTV, as well as streaming on Paramount+.
