Southeast Technical College (STC) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Sara VandeKamp as the new Director of Workforce Development, effective immediately.
Dr. VandeKamp has been an integral part of Southeast Tech since joining in July 2020. In her previous role, she led the Eastern South Dakota Perkins Consortium, transforming it into a model of collaboration among rural school districts, industry leaders and post-secondary partners. Her efforts have strengthened connections and expanded opportunities in career and technical education throughout the region.
“Sara has built an incredible foundation of partnerships and innovation through her leadership of the Eastern South Dakota Perkins Consortium,” said Dr. Fenecia Homan, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Southeast Tech. “Her vision, energy and entrepreneurial spirit have made a lasting impact on our region’s workforce initiatives. We are thrilled to see her bring that same passion and strategic thinking to this new role.”
As Director of Workforce Development, Dr. VandeKamp will oversee initiatives that connect Southeast Tech with regional employers, strengthen workforce pipelines, and develop programs that anticipate and respond to evolving industry needs. She will focus on upskilling and continuous training opportunities for both new and existing workers, ensuring that programs remain aligned with employer demands. Additionally, she will provide leadership for the new Perkins Consortium Director, who will report to her once the position is filled.”

Dr. VandeKamp will transition into her new position while continuing to provide oversight for the Perkins Consortium during the search for her successor.
