HURON – Huron High School Football will resume practice Monday after a Tiger football player tested positive for COVID-19 late this past week. Huron School District Superintendent Terry Nebelsick informed parents Friday on social media of the positive case, and the team did not practice Friday or Saturday. As a precaution, other Huron High teams cancelled practices, but the girls’ tennis team did play Saturday at Madison.
In the Friday announcement, Nebelsick said that the South Dakota Department of Health will determine contacts and notify those who must quarantine for 14 days. Then on Saturday, Nebelsick said that the Beadle County COVID-19 task force operations section supported the football team’s return to regular activities.
The Tigers are scheduled to host Brookings Friday night in Huron.
