Dec. 5, 2025:
A California man was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning (Dec. 2, 2025, at 6:32am) in Watertown, SD.
Preliminary crash information indicates 29 year old Antonio Davis, Jr, from Oceanside, CA, the driver of a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500, was traveling west on 20th Avenue SE when the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with an eastbound 2006 Peterbilt semi driven by 54 year old Jerry Waldner of Watertown. Davis was pronounced deceased at the scene. Waldner was not injured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

The names of the persons involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling west on 20th Avenue SE when the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with an eastbound Peterbilt semi. The driver of the Ram was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Peterbilt was not injured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
