There’s been a lot of anticipation around the Stanley County boys basketball team in 2025-26, they are a team that can fly up and down the floor but also shoot the lights out. A team led by Joey Fischer who wants to see a wealth of shots taken by his offense, the Buffaloes will look to score and score a lot this year.
The Buffs started off the season on the road against Miller as a part of a boys and girls doubleheader. The Lady Buffaloes would lose in game one of the doubleheader and fall to 0-2. But the boys got off on a hot start taking a six-point first quarter lead which led to a 31-26 halftime lead.
The Buffaloes, who are known for a potent outside shooting game, were led by junior Eddie Duffy who finished the game with 22 points on five made threes. The Buffaloes also got a good night out of Paxton Deal who finished with 18.
The Rustlers were led by Derek Bruegemann who scored 15 points, Will Resel and Isaak Hunter both posting 14.
The Buffs would go onto win 69-47 and improve to 1-0. The Rustlers fell to 0-1.
